RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and modify CNC programs for various machines including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using CAM software and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining operations.
  • Set up CNC machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters based on project specifications.
  • Perform precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy.
  • Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or machine calibration to maintain continuous production flow.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design modifications and provide feedback on manufacturability using CAD / CAM programming tools.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup procedures, inspection reports, and process improvements.

KEY REQUIREMENTS :

  • Proven experience in CNC programming for milling machines and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CNC control systems
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing parts and creating tool paths.
  • Skilled in interpreting blueprints, schematics, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings with precision measurement tools like micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, geometry calculations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and schematics reading.
  • Experience working with CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a high-precision environment.
