Job Summary

The Work Study Student will support the department of Human Resources as a Office Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026.

This role supports the Office of Human Resources by creating a welcoming environment, assisting the university community, and administrative tasks as needed. The position offers hands-on experience in HR operations and customer service.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

Front Desk Operations :

  • Ensures a welcoming and organized front desk environment
  • Serves as the first point of contact for HR visitors, greeting walk-ins, answering phone calls, and managing inquiries through a multi-line phone system and ticketing software
  • Assesses and directs visitor and caller needs to appropriate resources or personnel

Administrative Support :

  • Performs general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, organizing documents, and running campus errands
  • Assists with updating and maintaining HR documentation and resources
  • Technical and System Support :

  • Participates in testing and providing feedback to improve the functionality of the HR chatbot
  • Utilizes internal project management software to efficiently manage and prioritize tasks
  • Shift Specifics

  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
  • Other Required Qualifications

  • Must be Federal Work eligible.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Experience

  • Proven customer service experience
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and creative platforms like Canva
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Proposed Salary

    $12.00 per hour

    This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
