Position Overview

The Associate Attorney will manage criminal defense matters from intake through resolution. This role is ideal for an attorney who is confident in court, eager to grow trial skills, and committed to client advocacy. You will work closely with senior attorneys while gradually taking ownership of cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal matters
  
• Appear in court for:
  
  • Arraignments
    
  • Pretrial conferences
    
  • Motion hearings
    
  • Probation violation hearings
    
  • Sentencing
    
• Draft and argue motions, including suppression and evidentiary motions
  
• Conduct legal research and case strategy analysis
  
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and expectations
  
• Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors when appropriate
  
• Prepare cases for trial and assist in jury trials as needed
  
• Maintain accurate and timely case documentation
  
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment
  

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Bar license (required)
  
• 2+ years of criminal defense or relevant litigation experience
  
• Courtroom experience preferred (public defender, prosecutor, or private defense)
  
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
  
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment
