Mental Health Technician
Position Summary :
The mental health technician will be responsible for all the standard job duties of a recreation assistant but will have the opportunity to receive specialized training focused on working with residents struggling with mental illnesses. Technicians will be chosen based on demonstrating a natural aptitude for working with and relating to those struggling with mental illness. This will be done with input from their supervisors and additional facility staff. Because of this skill set, Monarch will work to enhance the skills demonstrated by providing further education to these individuals to advance their abilities. These technicians will then bring their knowledge back to the facility and work to educate their co-workers on what they have learned.
Qualifications :
Experience working with adults diagnosed with a variety of mental illnesses. Two years of experience preferred.
Ability to clearly speak and proficiently read and write in English.
Ability to take direction and follow oral and written instructions.
Must qualify for employment, after a criminal background check, per the guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
