KēSTA I.T is actively seeking a Data Modernization Director for   an immediate contract engagement with our government client.

Work Location : This position is ONSITE

Job Description :

We Are Seeking a Data Modernization Director to provide strategic oversight, guidance, and coordination for enterprise-wide data modernization initiatives. This role focuses on aligning technology-driven projects with organizational goals, supporting project leaders throughout implementation, and ensuring timelines, communication, and outcomes are effectively managed. The Data Modernization Director plays a key role in advancing modern data practices, interoperability, and infrastructure improvements across multiple program areas.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide overall oversight and strategic direction for data modernization initiatives and related technology projects
  • Guide and support multiple concurrent projects, including system modernization, database implementations, interoperability enhancements, and electronic data exchange solutions
  • Assist in the development and execution of project timelines and milestones
  • Support project leaders during implementation phases, providing guidance and issue resolution as needed
  • Maintain consistent, clear, and effective communication with staff and stakeholders involved in modernization efforts
  • Ensure project activities remain aligned with defined goals, priorities, and deadlines
  • Develop and coordinate a team of support staff to assist with the management of data modernization projects, as needed
  • Oversee planning, organizing, budgeting, and coordination of complex, multi-faceted data management and modernization initiatives
  • Facilitate collaboration among technical, operational, and data-focused teams to advance organizational data goals
  • Ensure projects align with applicable data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory standards

Required Skills :

  • Proven experience managing or overseeing complex data management or data modernization projects
  • Strong IT project management experience, including timeline and resource coordination
  • Experience working within technical environments that may include servers, databases, HL7, SQL, EHRs, or similar systems
  • Knowledge of interoperability principles and modern data exchange practices
  • Experience working within security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks related to protected or sensitive data
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 or similar productivity tools
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills

    • Preferred Skills / Not Required :

  • Working knowledge of data management, visualization, and analytics tools used to organize and share data
  • Experience working with multiple vendors providing modern data management and analytics platforms
  • Experience supporting or collaborating with government entities on data or IT-related initiatives, including procurement processes
  • Familiarity with federal or grant-funded project reporting and management requirements
  • Prior experience building or leading support teams for large-scale modernization initiatives
