Perm - Medical Director - Neonatology Join a full-time, dedicated team of neonatologists at a regional perinatal center in Roanoke, VA. The practice includes a 60-bed NICU and offers the opportunity to engage in advanced neonatology while enjoying the vibrant small-town lifestyle surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Job Responsibilities Provide expert neonatal care at Carilion Clinic Children s Hospital and Lewis Gale Medical Center. Manage and lead NICU operations as Medical Director or participate as Associate Medical Director. Oversee advanced NICU services including high-frequency ventilation, whole body cooling, and nitric oxide therapy. Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric and maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Support medical education initiatives with students and residents. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in research. Provide clinical coverage, including day shifts, on-call, and weekend duties as needed. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and participate in leadership meetings. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency in the local area. Qualifications Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in Neonatology. Neonatal leadership experience required for the Medical Director role. Clean malpractice and medical license history (highly preferred). Must be eligible for a Virginia medical license or willing to obtain one. Willingness to relocate if not already in the area. DEA must be obtained prior to start. License and Certification Requirements Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Neonatology. Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain. Clean malpractice history is highly preferred. DEA registration required before starting.
