Our success to date is fueling the rapid expansion of use cases across AIG, and by extension, the need for new highly skilled and experienced candidates in the GenAI space to join our team.This is an exceptional opportunity to join a team that is shaping the future of insurance, lead and grow a talented team of data scientists, work on cutting edge technologies, and advance your carrier.As a Lead/Principal Data Scientist at AIG you will be serve a critical role in building and overseeing a team of highly productive data scientists tasked with the delivery of impactful enterprise level Generative AI Solutions.

We are seeking someone with extensive hands-on experience, as we are an applied data science team operating in an agile and production orientated environment. Candidates who have only managerial, or architecture experience should not apply.

Your responsibilities include:

• Oversee the development and successful delivery of data science and generative AI solutions in accordance with the business requirements. Monitor solutions in production.

• Develop technical delivery plans and execute on those plans to deliver solutions on time.

• Mentor and oversee junior data scientists.

• Collaborate with cross functional teams that comprise product managers, engineers and business leaders.

• Build evaluation frameworks to measure LLMs efficacy, ground truth dataset quality, and guide product development roadmap

What is needed to be successful:

Required applied skills

• 7+ years of experience in a traditional data science role, preferably in NLP, working in an agile production orientated environment.

• 3+ years of experience managing teams of data scientists and or engineers.

• 2+ years of experience with building Generative AI Solutions (Prompt engineering, designing and building RAG frameworks, validation pipelines, observability and monitoring solutions)

• Preference will be given to candidates who have work experience on the Palantir platform or who can demonstrate certification.

• PHD or master's in data sciences or master's in computer science.

• Ability to work in a fast pasted high stakes environment.

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within and across teams.

• Ability to act in a managerial as well as hands on experience.

• Highly technical and hands on leader.
