Job Title : Controller

Location : Andover, MA

Job Type : Full-Time, Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Pay Range : $125,000 - $150,000 base salary + incentive compensation

Job Summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established consulting firm in the engineering and professional services space to help them hire a Controller . This newly created role will consolidate financial functions, modernize processes, and provide strategic support as the company continues to grow. The position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, billing, A / R, A / P, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
  • Take ownership of project accounting across the company
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, audits, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Partner with project managers and leadership to analyze project budgets, profitability, and operational metrics.
  • Develop financial reports, scenario models, and forecasts to support planning and decision-making.
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and vendors.
  • Establish and refine accounting procedures and controls to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as employee ownership, equity tracking, and long-term business planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on general ledger and project accounting.
  • Background in professional services, consulting, architecture, or engineering industries. (Project Accounting)
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint preferred), Excel, and financial modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, audits, and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience mentoring others.

    • Preferred :

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition for professional services.
  • Exposure to AI / data analytics for financial reporting.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build and scale accounting processes.

    • Pay Details : $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
