Software Solutions department is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to provide support for Agency initiatives revolving around the ISBE data warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data modeling, and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes. This position functions under general supervision and reports to a Supervisor.​

Duties and Responsibilities :

• ​Develops, optimizes, and troubleshoots ETL / ELT processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
• Supports ongoing data warehouse operations such as data migration, reporting, analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Collaborates with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Interprets data and analyzes results using statistical techniques and provides ongoing reports.
• Creates and maintains documentation on large scale data warehouse models and processes.
• Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Supports reporting and BI tools by preparing datasets, building queries, and optimizing data access.
• Participates in data governance, quality initiatives, and best practice development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.​
