Automotive Service Washer

Description:

*PLEASE NOTE: You must know how to drive a manual transmission (stick-shift) in this position.*

Vehicle Washing:

• Wash vehicle exteriors using soap, water, and appropriate cleaning tools.
• Dry vehicle exteriors using towels or air-drying methods.
• Ensure all areas of the vehicle, including wheels and tires, are thoroughly cleaned.
• Apply wax or protective finishes as needed.

Vehicle Vacuuming:

• Vacuum vehicle interiors, including carpets, seats, and upholstery.
• Remove trash and debris from vehicles.
• Clean and wipe down dashboards, consoles, and door panels.
• Ensure all surfaces inside the vehicle are spotless and free of dust.

Additional Duties:

• Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects or damages and report to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the washing and vacuuming area.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
• Assist in moving vehicles around the dealership lot as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous experience in automotive washing or detailing is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work efficiently and follow instructions.
• Good physical stamina, including the ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of proper vehicle cleaning techniques and products.
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance is a plus.

Work Environment:

• This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• The role may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
