Job Summary and Responsibilities

Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice or for a specified patient population. They lead the medical team and coordinate care for inpatients. They may examine individuals as they are admitted, ordering x-rays, diagnostic tests, and other lab work; they\'ll also analyze test results, order treatments and medical services, and prescribe medications.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to hospital inpatients.
  • Prescribe Medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients.
  • Order or interpret the results of tests such as laboratory tests or x-rays.
  • Conduct discharge planning and discharge patients.

Job Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified / board eligible
  • Ability to obtain an active medical license in state of Tennessee and / or Georgia
  • AHA BLS certification

    CHI Memorial in Chattanooga, TN is searching for a highly qualified, board certified or board eligible Internal Medicine Hospitalist (Admitter) to join our Hospital Employed Group of 87+ physicians and APPs across 3 hospitals.

  • 7 on / 7 off shifts, 11a - 11p, Tuesday to Monday
  • Physician swing shift coverage until midnight
  • No Peds, OB, or Trauma
  • No codes – Rapid Response Team
  • No after hours call
  • Reasonable census
  • Closed ICUs staffed by Intensivists
