Volunteer Coordinator

A company is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage beach-nesting bird colonies and oversee volunteer efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to act as bird stewards at nesting colonies

Coordinate volunteer schedules and perform steward duties as needed

Lead field trips to the colony and assist with data collection and volunteer appreciation events

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in biology or a related field

Experience in public speaking and interacting with the public

Demonstrated interest in protecting coastal wildlife in North Carolina

Knowledge of beach-nesting bird biology preferred

Willingness to work in difficult weather conditions and on weekends and holidays
