American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 3 trauma center, requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong general surgery skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Operating Room of a hospital environment with 19 OR suites, including 17 blocked roomsLevel 3 Trauma, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of ExcellenceSurgical specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, total joints, spine, vascular, cardiology, GYN, robotics, general, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain, and plastics casesAverage of 50 surgical cases per dayUses typical OR equipment with support from Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers12-hour day shift from 0700-1900; manager is open to alternate shift patternsEvery other weekend rotation requiredOn-call average of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time, including 11p-7a or 7a-7p / 7p-7a weekend shiftsTravelers will work 75% of holidaysNo floating requiredRadius rule : permanent address must be 50 miles from the unitMain duties include circulating and scrubbing for advanced, trauma, and specialty surgery casesOrientation includes facility onboarding and 2 days of department-specific trainingScrubs are provided by the facilityFree parking available on siteSupportive OR culture and team structureMust be able to respond to on-call shifts within 45 minutesHoliday coverage is required for 75% of holidays during contract\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum 5 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience (flexible, but not less than 12 months in specialty)Strong experience in general and geriatric surgical cases requiredFirst-time travelers will not be consideredCNOR certification preferred but not required\n Benefits\n
