At Global Laser Enrichment (GLE), were pioneering first-of-a-kind uranium enrichment technology to support the future of clean energy. Were seeking a Controls Engineer to play a critical role in the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of control systems that support our enrichment technology development and demonstration program.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, this role is central to ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance control solutions across process equipment, gas handling systems, and supporting infrastructure in a highly regulated nuclear environment.

What Youll Do
Develop and implement current and future control solutions to advance enrichment technologyCollaborate with engineering teams to plan and select control systems that automate enrichment process equipmentPartner with technicians to construct, install, and support safe and efficient control systemsLead commissioning and testing of control systems to verify functional and operational requirementsIntegrate individual equipment control systems into the broader plant control system architectureEnsure operational and reliability data is properly captured, recorded, and storedDevelop control strategies based on process flow narratives and system requirementsDesign and implement operator-facing HMIs to support safe and effective operationsProduce detailed control system documentation to support procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operationsMaintain design and test records and ensure compliance with Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) requirementsWhat Youll Bring
Active DOE Q-Clearance or equivalent (DoD Top Secret), or the ability to obtain and maintain oneBachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent experienceExperience programming PLC-based control systemsFamiliarity with control valves, pressure systems, and field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices)Ability to read and interpret P&IDsExperience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms (FactoryTalk View, Studio 5000, RSLogix 500)Working knowledge of industrial communication networks (EtherNet / IP, TCP / IP, Modbus TCP / IP, RS-232)Proficiency with Microsoft Office toolsWillingness to work extended hours when required and travel as neededPreferred Qualifications
Proficiency in advanced control system design techniques, including cascaded control loops, time-proportioned control, and predictive control algorithmsExperience with SCADA systems and data historiansFamiliarity with cybersecurity standards such as NIST SP 800-82 or ISA / IEC 62443Experience collaborating closely with operators to design and refine high-performance HMIsBackground working in classified, nuclear, or other highly regulated environmentsImportant Note
This position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Clearance, as well as ongoing eligibility for nuclear site access due to the sensitive nature of GLEs work.
