Sales Manager

About the Role
Were looking for a results-driven Sales Manager to accelerate new business growth at Strand Products, a 50-person, 100% employee-owned manufacturing company serving the medical device and aerospace industries. In this high-impact role, you will lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and serve as the primary connection between customers and our internal engineering, operations, and quality teams.
You will build, manage, and close a robust pipeline of new business opportunities through proactive outreach, relationship building, and consultative selling. Leading a small customer-facing team and a network of experienced industry sales representatives, you will ensure every prospect and customer receives a thoughtful, precise, and high-quality experience. This role spans sales leadership, account development, quoting, and strategic planningall aimed at expanding our market presence and positioning Strand Products as the go-to partner for innovative, high-performance manufacturing solutions.
What Youll Do
- Lead Generation & Relationship Development
Nurture inbound leads while cultivating long-term customer relationships
Arrange business meetings with prospective clients and existing customers to understand needs and opportunities
Identify the most efficient route for meeting customers' needs by providing internal and external referrals as needed
- Sales Outreach & Pipeline Management
Manage a customer service manager, an administrative associate, and a small team of outside sales representatives
Facilitate the necessary steps involved in sales outreach and follow-up, including trade show exhibiting and content creation for sales literature
Collect project details, manage active orders, quotes, and credit applications throughout the sales funnel workflow
Work closely with the customer experience manager to provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support to the customers and internal team
- Customer Communication & Account Management
You will possess an awareness of a typical sales process and advocate for customer needs throughout the product life-cycle
Utilize available customer relations management tools to facilitate lead generation and customer engagement, and qualify leads
Review pricing and lead time while reporting on pre-determined, customer-centered KPIs
Project Management & Coordination: - Translate customer requirements into clear specifications for engineering and operations
Own the customer quotation process for each project, ensuring that the customers needs are met
Manage contract review process and maintain an organized, up-to-date digital customer database
- Strategic Planning & Market Insight
Conduct market research and industry analysis
Generate part forecasts to drive manufacturing planning activities
Maintain a watchful eye on our competitors and industry leaders by regularly performing peer audits
Work independently to develop strategies focused on sales growth and customer experience
Partner with leadership to create company-wide, strategic, goal-setting initiatives, identify opportunities, and make recommendations based on observations, including optimization and implementation of objectives, key results, and KPIs
