Machias Savings Bank is seeking a skilled and analytical Compliance and Security Specialist to support our Compliance & Security Department. This role is responsible for monitoring customer activity, ensuring regulatory compliance, responding to potential fraud and suspicious activity, and supporting staff with compliance and security-related questions. The position plays a key role in protecting our customers and maintaining the Bank’s operational integrity.

What You’ll Do
• Monitor customer account activity, investigate alerts, and respond to reports of fraud or suspicious activity
• Prepare and file regulatory reports and review account opening and due diligence documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Support front line staff with compliance, fraud, identity theft, physical security, and legal process questions
• Assist with departmental projects and ongoing compliance and risk management efforts

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with solid organizational and time-management abilities
