Senior Bridge Engineer (PE) - Structural - Houston TX

Halff has an open position for a Senior Bridge Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to join our Structural Engineering team based in our Houston, TX location. This position is for an individual with 5 to 15 years of experience in Bridge Engineering and, preferably, experience in the design of box culverts, sign and signal structures and sheet pile walls. This position will provide a unique opportunity to be involved in conventional bridge design projects, bridge repair and renovation projects, and non-technical tasks such as project management, business development and structures practice building. What you will do:

• Will be responsible for the management of the complete design of structures projects
• Will work in a fast-paced environment with longstanding, trusted clients, that require on-site investigations, bridge load ratings and coordination
• Will manage production of design calculations and construction drawings
• Will review contractor submittals and coordinate with inspection subconsultants during construction
• Will participate in business development activities
• Will be responsible for project budgets and schedules
• As project manager, will coordinate effort with clients as well as in-house engineers and subconsultants
• Will assist in training and supervising less experienced engineers and designers

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
• Master’s Degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas, or able and willing to obtain a Texas PE License within 6 months of start date
• A minimum of 5 to 15 years of experience in Bridge / Structural Design
• Experience managing structural design and plan production
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
• MicroStation, Revit or AutoCAD training is a plus
