DE Mortgage Underwriter

A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter to approve loans and ensure compliance with underwriting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Approve saleable loans and underwrite all loans under FNMA, FHLMC, and FHA loan programs

Monitor pipeline and make underwriting decisions based on risk assessment

Deliver high-quality service with timely updates to Mortgage Specialists

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred; minimum HS diploma required

Minimum of 2 years' DE Underwriting experience with conventional and FHA loans

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with electronic mortgage processing systems required

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage high-stress situations

Knowledge of investor programs and overlays, with USDA / VA experience preferred
