Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor 12 (Maintenance Supervisor) Office of Aeronautics

Job Description

This position is responsible for managing Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) aircraft including serving as the chief mechanic. This includes scheduling assigning and performing required periodic and unscheduled aircraft maintenance as prescribed by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Transport Flight Operations Manual. This position also functions as a supervisor of maintenance personnel. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining aircraft maintenance records managing aircraft spare parts room and inventories and assuring safety and maintenance of building and hangar / shop facilities.

Required Education and Experience

Education

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience

Six years of experience as a licensed aircraft mechanic.
