American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a NE or compact license and strong critical care skills for a 13-week acute care assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 33-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospitalUnit serves adult trauma, cardiac, overdose, sepsis, stroke, post-stent, vascular, renal, heart failure, and respiratory distress patientsNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 2-3 for adultsRNs are required to titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation dripsRNs must manage respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilatorUses Epic EMR, with experience preferredRNs read, interpret, and document telemetry strips, monitor brand is GE, with tele tech oversightShifts are 12-hour days, 0630-1830Required to work every other weekendFloating to PCU and occasionally MedSurg is required, maintaining appropriate ratiosMinimum of two holidays covered if they fall in the contractOne shift of unit-specific orientation providedRNs are assisted by nurse aides and healthcare support tech as census allowsArtificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply will lead to terminationPass / fail skills exam is given during orientation and requires a minimum score of 90% to continueRTO (requested time off) must be communicated upfront and cannot exceed 7 days during the contractSelf-scheduling is available for core staff; block scheduling is not guaranteed for travelersRadius requirement is 50 miles; applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facilityFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license is required and must be in hand at applicationMinimum of 2 years recent ICU experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredExperience titrating critical care drips and managing advanced respiratory equipment requiredDriver's license required for address verificationMust provide two references—one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 yearsMay not have been employed (full, part-time or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year\n Benefits\n
