BSN, preferred At least 2 years of prior experience or training in psychiatric nursing or ANCC certification in psychiatric nursing required More than two years of experience supervising registered nurses providing psychiatric patient care. Experience utilizing electronic medical administration records and health records. Greater than 1 year of medical surgical nursing experience At least 21 years old Valid Drivers License Valid Auto Insurance Licensed as a Registered nurse in the state of Kansas. ANCC Certification for Psychiatric Nursing preferred. Plans, organizes and directs licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel assuring adequate staff-patient ratios Coordinates services with providers, patients, families, ancillary departments, medical staff, and other providers Maintains responsibility, authority and accountability for program activities while on shift Supports program philosophies and decisions Keeps management informed of activities and events while on shift Provides input on employee performance appraisals, orientation and education Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation and communication of pertinent information to appropriate persons while maintaining patient confidentiality Provides all aspects of patient care in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces risk Develops and maintains professional and clinical skills Participates in program meetings and committees as required Performs additional duties as assigned by management. Position Summary :

Directs licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel; participates in staff development and evaluation of staff on assigned shift. Assists in direct patient care. Represents management and administration in their absence. Monitors various aspects of program safety and oversees crisis response when needed.
