Server Engineer

Koniag IT Systems LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to support KITS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid opportunity, requires 3days onsite and 2days remote.

We are looking for a highly qualified, experienced and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a Server Engineer to support a potential future business opportunity located in Washington, DC.

The ideal Server Engineer will support our enterprise server infrastructure. This position will focus on implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server systems and related technologies.

The Server Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's server infrastructure. Primary responsibilities include :

• Implement and maintain Windows Server environments
• Configure and manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V)
• Perform server patching, upgrades, and maintenance
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in server environments
• Configure and maintain backup and recovery solutions
• Implement security controls and ensure compliance with security policies
• Manage user access and permissions in Active Directory
• Support server monitoring and alerting systems
• Create and maintain server documentation
• Participate in infrastructure projects and implementations
• Support disaster recovery procedures and testing
• Collaborate with other IT teams on integrated solutions
• Participate in after-hours maintenance windows as needed
• Provide escalation support for server-related issues
