Job Purpose

Responsible for battery design and engineering analyses on molten salt batteries. Analyses include conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, estimates, and calculations for energy storage and power conversion. Activities include battery design, prototype fabrication, technical data packages, product manufacturing instructions, test, and evaluation. The selected engineer will work with other members of the engineering department to create design solutions that meet customer requirements and company objectives. The selected engineer will also work with the Quality and Manufacturing functions to ensure products are delivered to the highest possible standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of battery products.

Develops and deploys design criteria for selecting components and equipment to use. Utilizing computer-aided design equipment, develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
