Team Lead, Instrument Manufacturing

Job Description

Position Summary

The Lead is responsible for management of the technical challenges involved in launching a new cell and / or changing the layout of an existing cell for improved ergonomics, efficiency, safety, etc. This person will assist the Manager and / or Supervisor in that area and will assign work to other employees when necessary, and work with Engineering team to resolve technical issues on the floor. They will also be responsible for documenting daily numbers such as status of every instrument, Process orders consumed, and units closed.  Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position.

Primary Duties

• Works across cross-functional teams to facilitate production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Reviews production metrics to identify areas for improvement and resolve production issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot equipment and process issues,
• Participate in training and development activities to help coach and train technical skills in support of manufacturing operations.
• Assist in various manufacturing support activities, ensuring adherence to established procedures and contributing to overall operational success.
• Keep track of daily production status.
• Provide daily status reports to Management as directed.
• Responsible for coordinating the workflow in a given area and making sure technical issues are handled in a timely manner.
• Interface with engineering so involvement happens as soon as possible for resolution of issues.
• Maintain workflow and consistent shipments.
• Create detailed cell layouts related to expansion and moves.
• Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

This role requires High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and 5+ years technical experience with medical instruments as well as experience leading individuals and / or teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Working Conditions

Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.

Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

Domestic travel required    __5__ % of time

International travel required   5 __ % of time

The estimated salary range for this role is between $25.00 and $35.00. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
