Shop Superintendent - Structural Steel Fabrication (New Jersey)

A leading structural steel fabricator in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Shop Superintendent to oversee daily fabrication operations and lead high-volume production teams. This hands-on leadership role requires strong structural steel experience and proven success managing projects 300+ tons.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, production flow, and scheduling
• Lead shop foremen, welders, fitters, and production crews
• Ensure safety, quality, and on-time fabrication
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, and detailing teams
• Review drawings, fabrication requirements, and manpower needs
• Drive efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural steel fabrication experience
• Leadership experience in a fabrication shop environment
• Experience managing projects 300+ tons
• Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication processes, and shop operations
• Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings

Preferred

• AISC fabrication experience
• CWI certification (a plus, not required)

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000-$135,000 base salary (DOE)
