Position Overview:
The Emergency Department Technician functions as an integral member of the patient care team under the clinical direction of the registered nurse. Provide patient care functions related to a variety of needs and assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their practice. The Emergency Department Technician works closely with Emergency Department physicians, Consulting physicians, ED management, ED Charge Nurses, ED staff nurses, EMT's, Tele Tech/CSA's, ancillary departments and outside institution/agencies.Job Description :
EDUCATION
HS Diploma or GED Or equivalent education/experience required
Completion of an accredited Emergency and/or Medical Technician Program Preferred
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 60 days of hire
Emergency Medical Technician - EMT Preferred
EXPERIENCE
One year acute ED experience as an emergency department technician within past 3 years or, one year of field triage experience as a paramedic preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to work effectively in a high stress environment
Order entry by computer
Legible handwriting
Ability to communicate effectively
Possess and utilize organizational skills, be able to set priorities

Pay Range is $33.09 to $41.14 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
