Qualifications

  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Human?Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, Social Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in consumer?facing business domains.
  • Comfortable planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing, and communicating research.
  • Experience with qualitative user?centered design methods (interviews, diary studies, observation, think?aloud usability testing, etc.).
  • Experience with quantitative research (metrics, survey design, sampling, crosstabs, statistics).
  • Experience evaluating, negotiating, and working with external research vendors.
  • Ability to describe user problems and business opportunities to diverse stakeholders using data.
  • Critical thinker beyond business requests.
  • Storyteller and communicator fluent in English.
  • Enjoys collaborative work in a data?driven, creative environment.

Responsibilities

General Role Expectations :

  • Demonstrate critical thinking beyond explicit business requests.
  • Operate independently on all research tasks.
  • Lead core end?to?end research activities : objectives, hypotheses, methodology, execution, analysis, communication.

    • Research Skills :

  • Evaluate research opportunities for importance, urgency, and impact.
  • Challenge research requests, propose solid solutions.
  • Execute projects effectively while expanding skills.
  • Apply quantitative and qualitative methods, triangulate findings.
  • Quantify research value and efficiency using tools.
  • Adapt established methods, innovate new ones with senior researchers.
  • Use key software tools common in the field.
  • Adhere to data compliance and ethics.

    • Collaboration :

  • Drive cross?disciplinary collaboration via insights and activities.
  • Collaborate efficiently with other researchers and disciplines.
  • Communicate clearly for different audiences.

    • Research Community Contributions :

  • Contribute to the research community by sharing work, mentoring, or screening candidates.
