Department of Kinesiology in the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. We seek candidates who are committed to delivering engaging academic experiences that promote student success. Applicants must be teacher-scholars who establish research agendas involving undergraduate students and emphasize active learning. Our seven specialized labs support research in biomechanics, exercise physiology, nutrition, sport psychology, and motor behavior. Minimum Qualifications : Candidates must possess an earned Doctorate in Exercise Science / Kinesiology or closely related discipline by the time of the appointment (ABD considered, completed by August 2026); demonstrated ability or potential to teach effectively in both classroom and laboratory settings; commitment to student-centered teaching and active learning and potential to conduct independent research involving undergraduate students. Preferred Qualifications : Demonstrate expertise in the areas of Biomechanics and / or Motor Behavior; Certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS); Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F); Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS), and / or Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC); experience with grant writing and potential to secure external funding; experience in developing new academic programs to include designing and delivering online courses.
