Appeals & Grievances Team Support

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to support Appeals & Grievances team. This role involves handling sensitive member and provider inquiries, analyzing cases, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards. Schedule : Monday Friday, 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage intake of member and provider calls, faxes, emails, and internal referrals.
  • Evaluate information and determine appropriate actions based on policies and regulations.
  • Analyze appeals, grievances, and inquiries using contractual and regulatory guidelines.
  • Create and maintain accurate electronic case files within required timeframes.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
  • Triage cases to ensure prompt resolution and minimize escalation.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Associate's degree and one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in data entry tasks.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in business processes, analysis functions, or health insurance / managed care systems.
  • Experience in customer service or resolving grievances and appeals.
  • Two (2) years of experience in writing and editing.
  • Familiarity with NCQA standards and Federal / State healthcare regulations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare coding systems (e.g., CPT-4, ICD-9).
  • Job Type & Location : This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Honolulu, HI.

    Pay and Benefits : The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following :
