Full-time Seasonal Salary :

$16.95 - Hourly

The Fresno County Department of Agriculture invites applications for the position of Agricultural Field Aide . Incumbents perform the less complex, routine tasks associated with the various programs within the Department including, but not limited to, pest detection on public and private property. In addition, incumbents assist Agricultural / Standards Specialists in special surveys and pest eradication activities.

At this time, the Department of Agriculture is looking to fill full-time seasonal (extra-help) positions, specifically for seasons running March through November.

Note : Temporary (extra-help) positions are paid an hourly rate for actual hours worked, are not entitled to benefits, do not obtain permanent status, and serve at the will of the department head.

Minimum Qualifications

Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 3, Section 6722 and the California Food and Agriculture Code Section 12981, this position requires the following age requirement :

Age : Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Education : Possession of a United States' high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

License : Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group III - Heavy Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require heavy physical effort using arms, legs, back and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) over 25 pounds. Generally, considerable bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved. Physical stamina is usually required and explosive strength using bursts of energy may be required, depending upon specific position assignments.
