Police Dispatcher

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive, relay, and/or transmit routine and emergency calls to police, fire, and other public agencies.
• Maintain log of radio transmissions, telephone calls, and other information.
• Maintain incident reports of criminal activity or complaints; assist in ticket administration.
• Monitor fire alarm system.
• Issue parking decals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of radio 10-codes and appropriate radio communication guidelines
• Knowledge of law enforcement jargon
• Knowledge of AUM Police Department procedures and policies
• Ability to operate communications equipment
• Ability to write and maintain reports
• Ability to communicate with other public agencies
• Ability to respond to multiple competing demands
• Ability to speak clearly and provide clear and concise instructions to others
