Senior AccountantLocation: Onsite - Seattle
Pay Rate: $35-$40 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
Overview:We are seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant to join a dynamic accounting team in Seattle. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead key components of the month-end and year-end close process
- Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity
- Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze financial data and provide insight into variances and trends
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation
- Assist with process improvements and strengthening internal controls
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff when needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work onsite in Seattle
Preferred Qualifications:- CPA or CPA-track preferred
- Experience supporting audits and preparing financial statements
- Experience working in a mid-size or growing organization
- Experience improving accounting processes or internal controls
