Job Description

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations per physician orders and clinical protocols
  • Operate digital radiography (DR) and portable X-ray equipment safely and effectively
  • Position patients correctly to obtain optimal diagnostic images
  • Ensure image quality meets radiologist and regulatory standards
  • Upload, label, and transmit images accurately to PACS / RIS
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and report issues promptly

Mobile Imaging Responsibilities

  • Travel to patient locations including :

    • Private homes

  • Assisted living facilities
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Adult day care centers
  • Corporate or occupational health sites
  • Transport, set up, and calibrate portable X-ray equipment
  • Adapt imaging techniques for non-traditional environments
  • Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and comfort in all settings
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs consistently

    • In-Office Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and imaging equipment
  • Verify patient identity, orders, and clinical history
  • Follow clinic scheduling and workflow procedures
  • Coordinate with front office, nursing staff, and radiologists
  • Assist with QA / QC procedures and daily equipment checks
  • Assist with phones / scheduling

    • Patient Care & Safety

  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and caregivers
  • Follow ALARA principles and radiation safety guidelines
  • Utilize proper shielding and infection control practices
  • Assist patients with mobility challenges or special needs
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance at all tim

    • Qualifications

  • ARRT certification (RT-R) or MA / XRAY certificate
  • Valid driver’s license
