Travel Sterile Processing Tech - $1,635 per week in Bethpage, NY

Job Title : Technologist or Technician Profession : Technologist or Technician Specialty : Sterile Processing Duration : 8 weeks Shift : Day Shift Hours per Shift : 7.5 Experience : 5 years of relevant sterile processing experience License : Current Registered Central Supply Technician Certification (CRCST or CSPD) Certifications : None specified Must-Have : Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience Description : Very large and busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services. The facility provides emergency services for the area. Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily operations of sterile services. Ensures staff compliance with sterilization techniques, policies, and procedures. Ensures sterilization activities are properly documented and participates in the maintenance of department records. Serves as a liaison between the sterile department and perioperative areas. Coordinates activities and resolves problems as they arise. Ensures proper care and handling of all instrumentation received through the decontamination area. Accepts and tags fast tracks. Assigns employees to their job tasks every day and moves them around when needed. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds is required. Manual dexterity and the ability to stand, bend, lift, and / or reach for extended periods of time are required. Must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and follow oral and / or written instructions. Scrubs are provided and must be laundered on-site. Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered. Nail polish is not permitted.
