The Mechanical Engineering department in the School of Engineering anticipates hiring multiple Readers for the below courses for Academic Year 2025-2026 :

ME 121 : Introduction to Manufacturing Processes

ME 137 : Computer Aided Engineering

ME 140 : Vibration and Control

ME 142 : Mechatronics

ME 144 : Introduction to Multi-body Dynamics

ME 212 : Advanced Controls : Robustness and Optimality

ME 237 : Radiative Heat Transfer

ME 239 : Nano-Fabrication for Interdisciplinary Materials Sciences

ME 290 : Surface Sci and Engineering

The Reader will be responsible for grading homework, quizzes, exams as needed under the supervisor of the instructor. The position will require up to a maximum of 18 hours per week.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

The Reader will have successfully completed the course or related course they are appointed to as a Reader with a grade of "B" or higher and be in good standing at the University with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). Readers will usually be graduate students; but qualified undergraduate students may be employed, especially when graduate students are not available. Professional readers, not enrolled as students, may be employed to meet special needs, but only on an hourly basis.
