Job Description

AECOMis seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the Mining group.

Job Summary / Responsibilities :

Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Planning, implementing, and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel / field time)

Developing geotechnical laboratory testing assignments

Performing geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses

Preparing calculation packages

Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specifications

Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team

Review of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports

Qualifications

Min Requirements

BA / BS + 2 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

MA / MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis

EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months

4+ years of relevant experience

Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D

Field / Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus

Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications

Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills

Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment

Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility

Resourceful, highly organized, and detail oriented

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Effective time-management and interpersonal Skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Additional Information

Relocation is not available for this role.

Sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65000 to $90000.
