Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists for ongoing weekend call coverage . This is a great opportunity to join a well-supported GI service line with consistent, predictable scheduling and a steady case mix.

Reason for Coverage : Lack of weekend GI coverage

Practice Setting : Hospital call Saturday & Sunday (Fri 5p Mon 7a)

Clinical Areas : Adult GI, Hospital, Clinic

EMR : Epic

Estimated Credentialing : 90 days

Required Procedures / Duties

Esophageal Dilatation / Manometry & Interpretation

Small Bowel Biopsy

Lower GI Endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy

Liver Biopsy

Sengstaken / Blakemore Tube insertion & management

EUS (preferred)

ERCP - required

Upper GI Endoscopy, including :

Biopsy

Foreign body removal

Cautery / laser

Variceal injection / banding

Therapeutic / diagnostic ERCP

PEG placement

Average : 8 procedures per weekend (mix of GSI, Hepatology, RGA, Surgery, Colon, EGD, ERCP)

Candidate Requirements

Board Certified Required

Active Virginia License Required

ERCP competent Required

EUS experience Preferred

Flu shot Required

COVID vaccine Highly Preferred

Clean malpractice for temp privileges Required

Must commit to specific open dates to be considered
