Position Overview
The Senior Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage construction projects within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) focusing on higher education facilities. This role requires a strategic leader who ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with LAUSD regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects focused on higher education facilities within LAUSD.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
- Ensure adherence to LAUSD regulations and standards throughout the construction process.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability.
- Engage with stakeholders, including school officials, community members, and contractors, to facilitate project success.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Oversee contract administration, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
- Provide leadership to project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure construction meets required standards.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all project participants, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on educational facilities preferred.A current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.A current and valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction. Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).Proven experience with scheduling and budget management in a construction environment.In-depth knowledge of LAUSD regulations and compliance requirements.Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively with various teams.Expertise in risk management and problem-solving techniques.Experience in contract administration and negotiation.Familiarity with quality assurance practices and site supervision.Benefits
