Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular ICU (IU Health Methodist Hospital)

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant  to join our CVICU Team at IU Health Methodist Hospital !

This position will be covering a 34-bed cardiovascular surgery ICU at Methodist Hospital. The provider will be working as a part of the Cardiovascular Surgery team providing care for the pre- and post-operative CVS, MCS, thoracic transplant, cardiac medical and vascular surgery patients.Â

Job Description:

• Full-time, Night shift 3 shifts per week - Saturday, Sunday and 1 additional weekday No call or holidaysÂ
• 100% inpatientÂ
• Procedures include: Intubations, Central line placements, Arterial line placements and Chest tube insertion.Â

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in collaboration with a Critical Care Physician to provide care to a variety of patients surgical and medical.
• First line of communication for nursing as well as other service lines.
• Ensure proactive rounding, evaluating for emerging issues, providing urgent assessments and continuation of patient progression through the ICU continuum.
• Procedures as necessary to provide appropriate patient care is delivered.
• Primary driver for downgrades/transfer coordination.
• Some independent billing of encounters and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be board eligible or board certifiedÂ
• Master's Degree Required
• Must be an ACNP or PA
• Open to highly motivated new grads with appropriate clinical rotations, and/or RN bedside cardiovascular care experience
• APP experience preferred but not required - CV Surgery, Critical Care, or Cardiac nursing welcome.Â
