Maintenance And System Support Administrative Assistant

The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. The Maintenance and System Support (MA) Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support, technical writing, presentation development, documentation tracking, and schedule coordination.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides administrative support to the maintenance team including scheduling meetings, editing, and maintaining general records, creating and managing files, and keeping meeting minutes
  • Word, Power Point and Excel documentation development and review
  • Provide statistical data to management for review and trending
  • Experience with MAXIMO or similar asset tracking system
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

U.S. Citizenship is required. AS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university is preferred, plus two (2) to four (4) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.

General Skills :

  • Good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, and Power Point), office equipment
  • Must be self-motivated and have great attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and work independently
  • Essential Functions :

    Work Environment :

  • Office environment (95%)
  • Test / Industrial Environment - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals, and industrial facility environments (5%)
  • Travel between facilities and test operations may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation (
  • Equipment and Machine :

  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) (80%)
  • Software : MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, MAXIMO (100%)
  • Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (20%)
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Potential exposure to high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, propellants, and the like. (5%)
  • Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. (100%)
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs. (25%)
  • Attendance :

  • Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
  • Overtime / work outside normal schedule required (

  • US. Citizenship required.
  • Valid Real ID compliant identification
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A general background check is required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety / risk hazard to the employee or others.
  • The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.
