Job Description :
Pay Range : $54.20hr - $57.20hr
- The Senior SQL Server DBA is a key member of the infrastructure team supporting application migration efforts.
- This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the migration of application databases while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with IT standards.
- The position supports critical data systems and contributes to technology modernization initiatives.
Must Have / Required Skills :
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA.Minimum 1 year of experience migrating application databases between versions and platforms.Minimum 5 years of backup and restore experience.Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).Experience managing database roles, permissions, and encryption.Strong proficiency in T-SQL.Preferred / Nice to Have Skills :
Experience implementing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).Experience with database design and normalization.Experience using PowerShell.Required Education and Certifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required.Relevant work experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.Key Responsibilities and Job Functions :
Migration Planning and Execution :
Assess existing databases for migration readiness.Develop and implement migration strategies for on-premises and cloud environments.Coordinate with application teams to ensure compatibility and minimize downtime.Monitor migration processes and resolve issues promptly.Provide technical guidance and training to stakeholders.Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business units.Database Administration, Security, and Compliance :
Configure and maintain SQL Server and other database platforms.Perform schema conversions, data transformations, and integrity checks.Optimize database performance during and after migration.Implement encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms.Ensure compliance with state and federal data regulations and security standards.
