Job Description :

Pay Range : $54.20hr - $57.20hr

  • The Senior SQL Server DBA is a key member of the infrastructure team supporting application migration efforts.
  • This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the migration of application databases while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with IT standards.
  • The position supports critical data systems and contributes to technology modernization initiatives.

Must Have / Required Skills :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience migrating application databases between versions and platforms.
  • Minimum 5 years of backup and restore experience.
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience managing database roles, permissions, and encryption.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL.

    • Preferred / Nice to Have Skills :

  • Experience implementing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
  • Experience with database design and normalization.
  • Experience using PowerShell.

    • Required Education and Certifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

    • Key Responsibilities and Job Functions :

    Migration Planning and Execution :

  • Assess existing databases for migration readiness.
  • Develop and implement migration strategies for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Coordinate with application teams to ensure compatibility and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor migration processes and resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business units.

    • Database Administration, Security, and Compliance :

  • Configure and maintain SQL Server and other database platforms.
  • Perform schema conversions, data transformations, and integrity checks.
  • Optimize database performance during and after migration.
  • Implement encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal data regulations and security standards.
