Position Summary : As a Clinical Nursing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality patient care through effective management and coordination of care activities. You will be responsible for allocating resources efficiently, providing leadership, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
Education / Certification : A Bachelor’s Degree or currently enrolled in such a program is required, along with a current Registered Nurse license. Certification is highly desirable. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is also a must.
Experience : A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in an acute care setting is required, with demonstrated potential for leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Engage with all patient care units to evaluate patient conditions, staffing needs, and support caregivers.
- Oversee the distribution and utilization of personnel effectively during shifts.
- Assess the quality and appropriateness of patient care, participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain open communication with the Nurse Executive and Administrator-on-call about critical situations.
- Evaluate patient placement and care needs from a comprehensive hospital perspective.
- Contribute to nursing and organizational policy-making through active participation in committees.
- Follow established Pharmacy protocols when Pharmacist assistance is unavailable.
- Adhere to protocols outlined in the Emergency Preparedness Manual.
- Demonstrate flexibility and organization while managing stressful situations, employing critical thinking in prioritization and delegation.
- Pursue ongoing personal and professional growth, serving as a role model and mentor.
- Respond to emergent situations, coordinating and evaluating staff responses.
- Enhance patient satisfaction through high-quality care and service recovery techniques.
- Provide feedback for staff performance evaluations and monitor action plans.
- Exercise good judgment in adhering to hospital policies and address unusual patient care or unit management issues effectively.
