Schedule Details :

Nights

8 and 12-hour shifts

Rotation every third weekend & holidays

Sign-On Bonus : $15,000 for 3rd Shift

Unit Overview :

Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you'll provide care to a diverse array of patients, including :

Post-operative care for craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections

Patients undergoing cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries

Patients affected by hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program

A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery cases, including medical overflow

As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to advanced surgical techniques and innovative patient care.

Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate patient care

Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to support positive health outcomes

Contribute to enriching patient experiences across the continuum of care

Major Responsibilities :

Assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans; involve patients and families in care

Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient conditions

Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and reduce risks

Coordinate discharge planning utilizing an interdisciplinary approach

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support professional development

Maintain effective communication and foster collaboration within care teams

Promote a culture of safety by identifying and addressing potential risks

Qualifications :

Registered Nurse license in the state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Graduation from an accredited Nursing program

1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred

Skills and Abilities :

Holistic approach to patient care with a focus on family involvement

Adequate computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records

Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills

Able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment

Physical Requirements :

Ability to perform various physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Capable of lifting 50 lbs. from the floor to waist height and 20 lbs. over head

May be exposed to hazardous materials and require protective equipment
