Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district in Oakland, CA is seeking a dedicated Social Worker for a contract position during the upcoming school year. This role involves supporting students and families by addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges within the school setting.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage student and family cases by connecting them with community resources and referrals.
  • Provide counseling and support to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Conduct home visits to evaluate family environments and offer necessary support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and external agencies to promote student well-being.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working as a social worker in school settings.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and referral processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Commitment to student advocacy and support.
