Our client, a leading provider of high-availability communication services, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Systems Engineer to manage and maintain their critical Windows infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous operation of our core communication platforms.
System Management & Maintenance
- Design, deploy, configure, and manage Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) across physical and virtual platforms (VMware / Hyper-V).
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and supporting services for enterprise-wide user and resource management.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange or other enterprise-level communication / messaging platforms.
- Oversee system patching, security updates, and vulnerability remediation processes to maintain a strong security posture.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
Ensure the 24 / 7 high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) of critical communication systems.Implement and manage clustering, load balancing, and failover solutions (e.g., Windows Failover Clustering, NLB) to minimize downtime.Develop, document, and regularly test DR and business continuity plans.Monitoring, Performance, & Optimization
Implement and maintain robust system monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM, Nagios, or similar) to proactively identify performance bottlenecks and issues.Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems, and execute necessary tuning to optimize resource utilization and system responsiveness.Manage storage solutions (SAN / NAS) and implement efficient backup and recovery strategies (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).Security & Compliance
Work closely with the security team to enforce security policies, conduct audits, and respond to security incidents.Manage and configure firewalls, access controls, and security configurations on Windows servers.Support & Documentation
Provide tier 3 support for complex infrastructure issues.Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and infrastructure maps.Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems outside of business hours.Required Qualifications
Experience : 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or advanced system administration in a large-scale, enterprise environment.Operating Systems : Deep expertise in Microsoft Windows Server (current and recent versions).Networking : Strong understanding of TCP / IP, routing, switching, and firewall concepts as they relate to server infrastructure.Virtualization : Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, preferably VMware vSphere.High Availability : Proven experience implementing and managing HA solutions (clustering, load balancing).Scripting : Proficiency in PowerShell for automation, task scheduling, and configuration management.
