Sales Representative
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our transportation equipment sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the trucking and logistics industry, and proven experience selling dry vans, refrigerated trailers (reefers), flatbeds, or chassis to commercial fleets, dealerships, or owner-operators. This role focuses on developing new business, maintaining existing accounts, and promoting trailer products and financing solutions that meet customer needs for reliability, performance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect, qualify, and secure new customers within assigned territories, including fleets, logistics operators, and independent truckers.
- Identify sales opportunities for new and used trailers, reefers, and dry vans, as well as lease or rent options.
- Build and maintain relationships with fleet managers, logistics directors, and purchasing departments.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and transportation associations.
- Manage an existing customer portfolio and develop repeat business through responsive communication and after-sales support.
- Coordinate closely with operations, service, and finance teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
- Track leads, opportunities, and quotes using CRM software.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Present and demonstrate trailer products, features, and configurations (reefer systems, insulation, floor types, axle setups, etc.).
- Advise customers on DOT compliance, maintenance, and total cost of ownership.
- Stay up to date with OEM product lines, specifications, and warranty programs.
- Assist customers in selecting proper trailer specs for regional or long-haul operations.
- Prepare and submit professional quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, trade-ins, and delivery schedules within company guidelines.
- Coordinate financing or leasing arrangements through company partners.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 35 years of sales experience in transportation equipment, such as trailers, dry vans and reefer preferred.
- Familiarity with dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, and chassis; understanding of fleet operations and logistics industry cycles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills. Strong technical aptitude with equipment specifications.
- Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital quoting tools.
- Valid driver's license, clean record, and willingness to travel regionally (2550%). CDL is a plus.
