Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,822 per week in Amarillo, TX

Job Title : Step-Down Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Step Down Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 2 years required License : Registered Nurse License Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Epic experience within the last 6 months Description : Step-down RN required for a night shift position. Charge experience is a must as the traveler is required to work in a charge capacity as needed. The position involves caring for a mixture of medical / surgical and intermediate care patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios will range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6, depending on patient assignments each shift. Must have the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with blood product administration and central line care / management is required. Candidates should be proficient in managing cardiac drips without titration and oxygen administration. Familiarity with telemetry is essential for this role. Holiday availability is expected with a requirement to work 2 out of 3 holidays if needed. No local candidates will be considered; the travel radius is set at 50 miles. Travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. This position supports patient care with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The daily patient census is expected to be around 12-14, with 24 beds in the unit. Candidates should be adaptable to varied patient diagnoses and special procedures. Pre-approved time off will be limited, with restrictions around holidays. Experience with Epic EMR is preferred for charting purposes.
