What we want
The Medical Radiologic Technologist will operate x-ray equipment with little or no supervision and assists physicians with diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries. All while adhering to patient care, quality, and safety assurance, obtaining authorizations, and other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
Successful completion of an accredited medical radiologic technology program.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Current Medical Radiologic Technologist License issued by the Texas Medical Board
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) certification
Licensure/certification must be maintained for continued employment
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with standard X-ray concepts, practices, and procedures within radiological technology field.
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
Ability to maintain patient information confidentiality.
Demonstrate skills and competencies required for this position.
Demonstrate and understand compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
Job Responsibilities
Patient Care
Position patients and adjust equipment for taking diagnostic images following established procedures.
Performs and assists with radiographic procedures.
Take X-rays of various portions of the body to help assist with a diagnose disease or injury.
Adjusts technical factors in proportion to the patient and body part being examined while minimizing radiation.
Reviews exposed radiographs for proper positioning, technique, and identification.
Greets patients, confirms their identification, and explains the exam.
Assists in moving patients to and from wheelchairs, lifts, and radiographic tables.
Safety/Quality Assurance
Performs visual preventive safety inspections and reports dangerous departmental or equipment conditions.
Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner and restocks linens as necessary.
Maintain radiographic log, in accordance with the policy, taking responsibility for documentation of exam, patient’s name and /or retake reason.
Calibrate and maintain X-Ray equipment.
Maintain accurate department records to satisfy both the state and federal regulations.
Diagnostic Imagining Referrals and Prior Authorizations
Processes referrals to outside organizations for diagnostic imaging.
Completes Prior Authorizations needs for diagnostic imaging.
