DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Equipment Operator with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you will be integral to maintaining the safety and efficiency of our roadways, particularly during the demanding winter months when snow removal is crucial. Your responsibilities will not only include snow plowing but also extend to various construction projects, where your expertise significantly influences the infrastructure and safety of the traveling public. Each day will present you with the opportunity to engage in physically demanding tasks, highlighting the importance of collaboration and commitment among team members.

In your role, you will operate heavy machinery while also being responsible for performing minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance on your equipment and trucks. Additionally, you will maintain detailed records by completing daily logs and reports that track equipment usage and maintenance history. This meticulous documentation is essential for ensuring operational efficiency and promoting accountability within the team. Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
