Job Requirements and Duties

  • Responsible for everything that happens during your shift, including cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations.
  • Set the example and follow all policy and procedures 100% of the time, expecting the same from the crew.
  • Staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management, scheduling, performance standards, customer service, attendance and punctuality, transportation, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
  • Prepare product and receive / process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Orientation and training provided on the job.
  • Communication skills : comprehend and give correct written instructions; communicate verbally and over the phone.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, using a calculator if needed.
  • Make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands / fingers for precise movements with speed.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.

    • Essential Functions / Skills

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination for rapid, accurate movements.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard or touchscreen to enter orders.

    • Work Conditions

  • Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing outside tasks.
  • In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas.
  • Sudden temperature changes both inside and outside.
  • Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler.
  • Hot surfaces for oven ranging up to 500°F or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

    • Sensing

  • Talking and hearing on the telephone.
  • Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.

    • Temperaments

  • The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Standing : Most tasks performed from a standing position.
  • Walking : For short distances and durations.
  • Sitting : Paperwork normally completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting : Bulk product deliveries—hand truck used to unload—cases up to 50 pounds.
  • Carrying : Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), trays of dough (12 lbs each). Carrying up to 72 inches high.
  • Push / Pull : Trays on dollies (24–30 trays, force up to 7.5 lbs) and pulling.
  • Climbing : Infrequent stairs or ladder use for maintenance.
  • Stooping / Bending : Forward bending at waist needed; duration 30–45 seconds repetitive.
  • Crouching / Squatting : Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
  • Reaching : Frequently up, down, and forward. Reach above 72 inches occasionally.
  • Hand Tasks : Eye‑hand coordination essential; use one or both hands required.
  • Machines and Tools : Use of pens, computers, telephones, calculators, pizza cutters, and peels.

    • Driving Specific Job Duties

  • Deliver product by car to customer door.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.

    • Essential Skills for Driving

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
  • Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses.
  • Navigate adverse terrain, multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
  • Carrying : Carry pizzas and beverages during walking and climbing duties.
  • Driving : Deliver pizzas within a designated area, making several deliveries per shift.
  • Walking : Travel between store and vehicle and to customers.
  • Climbing : Navigation of five or more flights of stairs during delivery.

    • Work Conditions – Driving

  • Varying weather conditions when delivering, driving, and couponing.
  • Far and night vision required for driving.
